Fifteen categories, four kinds of claims

The fifteen haircare categories cluster around four distinct kinds of brand claim, and knowing which cluster your evidence actually supports is the fastest way to pick the strongest entry. General excellence claims (Best Haircare Brand Company, Most Trusted Haircare Platform, Most Reliable Personal Care Brand) suit an established brand with broad customer-trust evidence — reviews, repeat-purchase data, retailer relationships — rather than a single standout product feature. Specific treatment claims (Leading Scalp Care Solution Provider, Best Hair Growth Solution Platform, Top Hair Repair Solution Provider) suit a brand built around solving one defined problem, where clinical or consumer-testing evidence for that specific claim matters more than general brand reputation. Positioning claims (Best Premium Personal Care Company, Best Luxury Personal Care Company, Top Organic Haircare Company) suit a brand whose evidence is more about market positioning and formulation philosophy than a single treatment outcome. Innovation claims (Most Innovative Haircare Brand, Leading Herbal Haircare Platform) suit a brand with a genuinely new formulation approach, technique or ingredient use, documented with a development timeline and results.

Most real haircare brands have a case for entering under more than one cluster — a scalp-care brand with strong customer loyalty, for instance, could reasonably enter both a treatment-specific and a trust-focused category — but the strongest single nomination usually leads with whichever cluster the brand's actual evidence is deepest in, rather than spreading thin evidence across a category that sounds most prestigious.

What consumer testing actually needs to show

"Clinical or consumer testing" gets referenced across most haircare categories, and it's worth being specific about what actually counts. Formal clinical trials with control groups are the strongest form of this evidence but aren't the only acceptable kind — structured consumer testing (a defined panel of users tracked over a set period, with before/after self-reported or measured results) is legitimate supporting evidence too, and considerably more accessible for a smaller brand than a full clinical trial. What matters is that the testing was structured rather than anecdotal: a defined group, a defined period, and a defined way of measuring the outcome, even if the sample size is modest. A handful of individual customer testimonials, while useful as supporting colour, doesn't substitute for this kind of structured evidence when a category specifically references testing.

Haircare brand awards — FAQs

What kinds of companies fit the haircare category group?

Shampoo, conditioner, treatment, scalp-care, hair-growth and personal-care product companies of any size.

Is it free to nominate for World Salon Awards 2027?

Yes. Submitting a nomination for World Salon Awards 2027 is free. No nomination charge applies.

Can a newer or smaller haircare brand compete against established names?

Yes — nominations are evaluated on the evidence submitted, not company size or history.

Is there a category for scalp-specific or hair-growth products?

Yes — Leading Scalp Care Solution Provider and Best Hair Growth Solution Platform are dedicated categories.

Can I nominate myself, or does someone else have to nominate me?

Both are accepted. Self-nominations and third-party nominations are welcomed and assessed on the same criteria.

Is World Salon Awards open to salons and brands outside the Middle East?

Yes. World Salon Awards is genuinely global — hair salons, beauty salons, nail studios, barbershops, cosmetics brands and individual professionals from any country are eligible, with categories judged at city, country, regional and world level.

Is the evaluation merit-based, or is there a public vote?

Evaluation is merit-based. An independent jury of beauty industry professionals scores each shortlisted nomination against the published criteria; sponsorship, advertising spend and gala ticket purchases have no influence on jury decisions.

Can a brand selling only through its own website (no retail) enter?

Yes — direct-to-consumer brands are eligible on the same customer-trust and formulation evidence as retail brands.

Is there a category for men's-specific haircare and grooming products?

There's no men's-specific category; enter under the general or treatment-specific category that matches the product's core claim, regardless of target demographic.
